Important Information Regarding Yard Waste Collection Beginning October 1, 2008 the new solid waste and recycling collection contract will take effect. The collection of yard waste (loose and containerized combined) will be limited to 6 cubic yards per week (equal to 3 standard size refrigerators). The transition period for residents to adapt to the change in yard waste collection services is from June 1st through September 30th. To assist in a smooth transition and to avoid any disruption to your service, we ask that the amount of yard waste you place curbside during the transition period does not exceed 6 cubic yards. The new limitation will be strictly enforced beginning October 1, 2008. We sincerely thank you for your assistance and cooperation.

 

Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Services

 

The Solid Waste Authority provides garbage and recycling collection for the residents and businesses of unincorporated Palm Beach County.  The SWA provides this service using contract haulers.  The County is divided into nine Service Areas, each of which is awarded to an individual hauler that has the exclusive right to provide service in accordance with the Service Guidelines in their contract.
