Vegetative mulch is composted with wastewater residuals from several Palm Beach County utilities to produce compost that is suitable for agricultural and horticultural uses.  Click here for more information.

Ferrous Processing Facility

Landfill Operations

The SWA operates both a Class 1 and a Class 3 landfill.  With a total of over 50  million yards of airspace, the landfill is expected to provide capacity beyond 2030.  Click here for more information.

Recovered Materials Processing Facility

Materials collected from curbside, multi-family housing units and commercial businesses is delivered to the RMPF.  Here these materials are sorted, baled, and shipped to market.  Click here for more information.

Resource Recovery Facility

The NCRRF is a refuse-derived fuel waste-to-energy facility.  It processes over 850,000 tons per year of solid waste into refuse-derived fuel.  This fuel is burned to produce electricity that is sold to Florida Power and Light.  Click here for more information.

Transfer Stations

The SWA operates five transfer stations in Palm Beach County.  These transfer stations accept and haul nearly 1.4 million tons of solid waste and recyclables per year.  Click here for more information.

Woody Waste Recycling Facility

The SWA receives more than 250,000 tons of yard waste per year, approximately 100,000 tons of which is processed at this facility.  Approximately half of the mulch produced is delivered to the compost facility.  Click here for more information.
