Volunteers Plant the Seeds of Kindness

On May 21st, 2011 SWA celebrated all of its volunteers by hosting a Volunteer Recognition Brunch at our Visitor’s Center. We had a tremendous turnout with over 56 in attendance. Our theme this year was “Volunteers Plant the Seeds of Kindness”. Surprise guests Mr. and Mrs. Freshley from the Okeeheelee Nature Center attending the event showed our volunteers that SWA appreciates their Kindness by giving them a Butterfly Garden tour along with a tabletop Butterfly Display. Also Kathy Malone, from the Atala Chapter of the North American Butterfly Association gave us a short presentation about Community Butterfly Gardening. Our volunteers were able to learn firsthand about the environment and what an important role Butterfly Gardens make in our communities.
