In-School Environmental Lessons

The Education Team will begin booking in-school presentations for the 2023-24 school year on Aug. 4.

To request an in-person school presentation, please fill out the
School Environmental Lesson Request Form.

The SWA's K-12 classroom lessons are a fun and innovative way of teaching students about solid waste and the importance of Reducing, Reusing, Recycling and Rethinking!

Elementary

Elementary lessons are designed to be done with two classes at a time, with a schedule of changing classes.

Please let us know at the time of scheduling if there's a vacant classroom. We'd prefer to be stationary and have students come to the presenters.

Middle and High School

Middle and high school lessons are scheduled to allow for changing classes when possible. Science teachers may want to join together for certain projects. The emphasis of these lessons is to promote following the 4Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink!

Student programs are conducted March through May, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., depending on the program selected. To schedule, please check for open dates on the Education Calendar and then complete the School Environmental Lesson Request Form. (Please note, this is a request form and not a guarantee of a scheduled program.)
