Transfer Stations

The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County has six transfer facilities strategically located throughout Palm Beach County. These facilities serve as centralized locations for the efficient transfer of waste and recyclables from small collection vehicles to larger SWA transfer vehicles.

The transfer stations reduce overall collection costs by decreasing the distance from the collection route to the disposal facilities. They also dramatically reduce the total number of miles driven on Palm Beach County’s roads, decrease fuel consumption, decrease vehicle emissions, and reduce congestion around the Authority’s disposal facilities.
Resident Drop-Off
Transfer stations provide more than just a location for the County’s haulers to dispose of garbage, trash, vegetation and recyclables. All of the transfer stations have “Citizens Convenience Areas” where residents can drop off recyclables and household hazardous waste. View drop-off locations.

Residents can drop off plastic containers #1 through #7, glass bottles and jars, aluminum cans, milk and juice cartons, drink boxes, newspapers, cardboard, magazines, catalogs, brown paper bags, and school/office paper.

Household hazardous waste is accepted at all of the SWA's transfer stations. Hours and materials accepted do vary, so visit the Home Chemical and Recycling Centers, or call 561-697-2700 or 866-SWA INFO (toll free) from the Glades or South County.
