Today, many things are recyclable, but not everything. While the recycling symbol maybe imprinted on an item, we still may not be able to recycle that item in our community. Different recycling facilities focus on recycling certain items. Decisions about what can be recycled are often determined by which recyclables are most common in the waste stream.
