Sawgrass

Sawgrass (Cladium jamaicense) is the primary plant in the book River of Grass by Marjory Stoneman Douglas. This term later became synonymous with the Everglades. Sawgrass, not actually a grass, is in the sedge family, with long, sharply-toothed leaves.
