Campers will go on a one-week Reduce, Reuse and Recycle adventure into the world of trash. During this week, campers will engage in hands-on activities and labs to learn all about their environment through an integrated solid waste management perspective and go behind-the-scenes at all of the SWA facilities.
Educators will go on a one-week immersive experience centered on solid waste issues, and will learn techniques and receive tools that can be taken back to the classroom. During this week, teachers will take a virtual behind-the-scenes tour of various solid waste facilities and participate in education workshops.
The SWA and School District of Palm Beach County are excited about this partnership opportunity to start a recycling competition amongst high schools. The program’s goals are to motivate students to recycle more, increase recycling rates at high school football games and promote SWA’s Recycle Right campaign.
