Explore your inner Indiana Jones by searching the SWA Greenway Trail System for geocaches during the 15th Anniversary of Geocaching. According to the Geocaching.com website, geocaching is a real-world treasure hunt that is happening right now, all round you. There are more than 2.6 million active geocaches and more than 6 million geocachers worldwide.
Currently, there are five SWA-placed geocaches on the SWA Greenway Trail System.
1. Cypress hammock rock2. Righty tightie lefty loosie
3. Century old tree4. Pines, pines and more pines
5. Seminole house
Two of these locations house special, trackable geocoins. And here is your spoiler alert… one side of the coin displays the winners’ symbol from the touch table game in the soon-to-open Education Center at SWA’s Renewable Energy Facility 2.
If you are lucky enough to find these five, there are another 13 geocaches placed by individuals throughout Palm Beach Renewable Energy Park (the area on N. Jog Road between 45th Street and the Bee Line Highway).
If you get nothing else from your geocaching adventure, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery where industry meets nature. It’s like getting lost in the way Florida used to be.
