With Palm Beach County under a Tropical Storm Warning and Hurricane Warning, all Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County facilities and operations will be CLOSED Wednesday (Nov. 9). There will also be no garbage, recyclables, yard waste or bulk waste collection in unincorporated Palm Beach County and no onsite drop-offs will be accepted until after the storm passes and it is safe to reopen facilities.
Due to these warnings and the threatening wind speeds, the SWA’s high-profile vehicles cannot safely be on the road to collect and transport waste.
A decision for Thursday’s (Nov. 10) waste collection will be announced by 3 p.m. Wednesday (Nov 9).
The SWA Greenway Trail system will be closed as of 3 p.m. today (Nov. 8) and will remain closed until further notice.
Those who do not live in unincorporated Palm Beach County should contact their municipality for information on the status of waste collection service in their community. A list of municipal contacts is available on the SWA website.
