Palm Beach County IS drawn to recycling. Student and adult artists from all corners of the county colored the intricate America Recycles Day coloring sheet from the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, and its contest partners WFLX-TV FOX29 and Whole Foods. Winners from five categories will be recognized for their outstanding work Saturday, Nov. 19.

Each winner, runner-up and SWA Staff Favorite will receive prizes courtesy of Whole Foods, WFLX-TV FOX29 and the SWA. All will have their work displayed at the Celebrate America Recycles Day at the SWA event Nov. 19 at the SWA’s Education Center (6751 N. Jog Road in West Palm Beach). The awards ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. in the second-floor classroom.
Before and after the ceremony, attendees will be able to watch their garbage get recycled into energy, protect their identity by shredding personal documents, and safely recycle household hazardous wastes.
SWA staff reviewed all entries and voted to select the SWA Staff Favorites. Then, entries were judged by experienced professionals, selecting winners in each age group based on creativity, originality, artistic skill and clarity.
This contest is made possible by a partnership between WFLX-TV FOX29, Palm Beach County Whole Foods stores and the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County.
