When the siren went off to start the inaugural Resource Depot/SWA Run AWAY 5K Trail Run Saturday, April 11, more than 140 registered runners tested their running abilities AWAY through the Solid Waste Authority’s e-Loop trail and Grassy Waters Preserve. Runners experienced the coexistence of industry and nature as they navigated through cabbage palms, cypress hammocks, marshes and lush pine flat woods, and caught glimpses of Grassy Waters Preserve Owahee Trail and the facilities at Renewable Energy Park.
